Data & Privacy
A practical summary of what stays local and what you control.
What stays on your device
RenewExit stores your manually entered subscription
and free-trial records, Exit Plans, recorded outcomes,
access-end dates, timeline history, and app preferences
locally on your device. It does not require an account,
bank connection, or email-inbox access.
External requests you choose to make
Searching while adding a subscription or selecting an
Exit Plan service may send search text and relevant
storefront, country, or locale parameters to Apple’s
iTunes Search API. Artwork may be loaded from Apple or
CDN URLs.
RenewExit may open Apple subscription management,
known provider pages, or a Google fallback search that
contains the service name. A support email is composed
by you, and exports go only to destinations you select
through the iOS share sheet.
Clear tracked data
Use
Settings -> Clear tracked data.
This removes subscriptions, Exit Plans, timeline and
history events, subscription reminders, Exit Plan
reminders, and custom reminders.
Language, appearance, default currency, preferred
reminder time, App Lock preference, and other app
settings are preserved. The action does not change
iOS notification permission. RenewExit does not
implement its own CloudKit/iCloud sync, and clearing
data cannot remove copies in older Apple-managed
device backups.
Understand export scope
CSV and JSON exports contain subscription-oriented
records and tracking fields; they are not a complete
Exit Plan or timeline archive. The PDF is a summary of
eligible tracked subscriptions, upcoming renewal or
trial information, estimated recurring costs grouped
by currency, and, where applicable, a separate section
for lightweight Exit Plan records.
Cancellation remains in your control
Opening a management method, provider page, or search
result does not mean cancellation succeeded. RenewExit
does not cancel a subscription for you. You complete
the process with Apple or the provider and explicitly
record what happened in RenewExit.
Local notifications and App Lock
Optional local notifications require iOS permission
and can cover renewals, trial endings, Exit Plan
follow-ups, and access-end dates. You can manage
notification permission in iPhone Settings.
Optional App Lock uses Face ID, Touch ID, or device
passcode through iOS LocalAuthentication where
available. RenewExit does not receive or store your
biometric information.
