Privacy Policy for RenewExit
Overview
RenewExit is a manual subscription tracking and exit-planning app. It helps you track subscriptions, free trials, renewal dates, and reminders, and lets you create Exit Plans to record management methods, outcomes, remaining access, and lifecycle history.
You enter this information yourself. RenewExit does not require an account or login, does not connect to your bank account, does not access your email inbox, and does not automatically detect subscriptions.
Information Stored on Your Device
RenewExit stores tracked and exit-planning information locally on your device. This can include:
- Service name and optional custom name
- Price, currency, and billing period
- Renewal dates and free-trial end dates
- Reminder preferences
- Notes
- Exit Plans and related lifecycle or timeline events
- Recorded outcomes, cancellation dates, and access-end dates
- Selected service artwork or logo data
- App language, appearance, default currency, reminder-time, App Lock, and other app preferences
How We Use This Information
RenewExit uses locally stored information to provide subscription tracking, estimated recurring-cost totals by currency, reminders, upcoming renewal views, Exit Plan follow-up, access-end tracking, timeline history, and exports inside the app.
RenewExit does not include an advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or tracking SDK. It does not use your locally entered records for advertising or tracking across other apps and websites.
Third-Party Services and External Requests
When you search for an app or service while adding a subscription or selecting a service for an Exit Plan, RenewExit may send your search text and relevant storefront, country, or locale parameters to Apple’s iTunes Search API to find matching results.
Apple may return app metadata and artwork URLs. RenewExit may download artwork from those URLs to display a service image and may store that artwork locally with your subscription record.
Service names, logos, artwork, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners. RenewExit displays them only to help identify services and does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation.
Search requests are sent to Apple only when you initiate a search, solely to return matching results. RenewExit does not send your saved subscription records, notes, reminder settings, prices, renewal dates, Exit Plan outcomes, or access-end history to Apple through this search.
For App Store-managed subscriptions, RenewExit may open Apple’s native subscription-management interface. For other services, it may open a known provider billing, support, or cancellation page. When no known web method is available, it may open a Google search that contains the service name so you can look for the provider’s current account or billing instructions. These destinations are outside RenewExit and are governed by their own privacy practices.
Opening a management method or cancellation page does not mean cancellation succeeded. RenewExit does not cancel subscriptions on your behalf or verify the provider’s result. You complete the process with Apple or the provider, then explicitly record what happened in RenewExit.
Notifications
RenewExit can schedule optional local notifications for subscription renewals, free-trial end dates, Exit Plan follow-ups, and access-end dates.
Notification permission is managed by iOS. You can change notification permission at any time in your device settings.
RenewExit does not use a developer-operated server to send reminder notifications.
App Lock
If you enable App Lock, RenewExit uses iOS LocalAuthentication, such as Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode, to protect access to the app.
RenewExit does not receive, store, or have access to your biometric information.
Exports
CSV and JSON exports contain subscription-oriented records and related tracking fields. They are not a complete export of Exit Plans or timeline events.
The PDF export is a summary. It can include eligible tracked subscriptions, upcoming renewal or trial information, estimated recurring-cost summaries grouped by currency, and a separate section for lightweight Exit Plan records where applicable. It is not a complete lifecycle archive.
Exports are created only when you start the export process. RenewExit uses the iOS share sheet, and you choose where to share or save the exported file.
Data Retention and Deletion
RenewExit stores subscription records, Exit Plans, timeline events, and related local data until you edit them or use the app’s deletion controls. RenewExit does not implement its own CloudKit or iCloud synchronization and does not provide a developer-operated backup service.
Depending on your device settings, locally stored app data may be included in iOS, iCloud, Finder, or iTunes device backups.
You can use Settings → Clear tracked data to remove subscriptions, Exit Plans, timeline and history events, subscription reminders, Exit Plan reminders, and custom reminders from the app.
This action preserves app preferences such as language, appearance, default currency, preferred reminder time, App Lock preference, and other settings. It does not change your device-level notification permission. Depending on your device settings, local app data may be included in Apple-managed device backups; clearing data inside RenewExit cannot remove copies contained in backups created earlier. You manage those backups through Apple’s iOS, iCloud, Finder, or iTunes backup settings.
Support Messages
When you choose to contact support, you compose and send the email yourself. We use the information you include to respond to your request and provide support. Where the app adds diagnostic context to the draft, it may include the RenewExit version, iOS version, and device model.
Support messages may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, maintain support records, or meet legal obligations.
Children’s Privacy
RenewExit is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International Users
RenewExit stores tracked and exit-planning data locally on your device. User-initiated external requests, such as Apple iTunes Search queries, artwork downloads, provider or Google destinations, exports shared to a destination you choose, and support emails, may be processed according to the privacy practices of the relevant service provider.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when RenewExit changes or when legal requirements change. The latest version will always be available on this page, together with its effective date.
